Erika Singer

Erika Singer was born on November 11th, 1982 in Plainview, New York. She died on August 9th, 2026.

Erika’s life was challenged early by liver cancer at the age of five. She began ballet with Kaleriya Fedicheva in Sea Cliff and went on to become a dance student at the Kirov Ballet School in Washington, D.C., a satellite of the Kirov Ballet in St. Petersburg, Russia. Erika was offered a full artistic and academic scholarship and studied with coach Maggie Black. Due to injury she had to give up a promising career in ballet. She worked as an international fashion model, and loved studying philosophy and women’s studies at The New School in New York City. She worked as a stage manager at The Gold Coast Studios in Bethpage, New York. Most recently, as a member of the Screen Actors Guild, she was a part of the TV and film community of New York City and appeared and worked on shows such as Fallout, Severance, Billions, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Law & Order: SVU, among many others.

She was funny, unique and a pied piper with children and animals.

She was intelligent, complicated, incredibly thoughtful and compassionate to those she loved and those who she knew needed help of any kind. She was facile at anything she decided to do, as adept at fixing cars as she was at sewing and carpentry.

Erika is the granddaughter of artist Zoric Ward and great-granddaughter of the portrait painter Elizabeth Shoumatoff. She leaves behind her father Andy Singer, a sculptor and kayak designer; her mother Victoria Ward, an artist; her stepmother Kaie Ojamaa, professor of biomedical sciences; her husband, the artist Georgi Georgiev; and numerous cousins.

She is missed beyond words.The world is less magical without her.
